Busy Book (Quiet book) page by page (2nd page)

In the previous post I made the spring themed page, and today I just made another season themed page, which is…… Autumn!! Another favorite of mine ๐Ÿ™‚

So here is the page

The activities here are:

  • Picking the veggies.. I made carrots, pumpkins, cabbages and radishes, and they can put it in the basket
  • Named the veggetables
  • Veggies hide and seek, the parents can ask the children to find the correct veggies (like a quiz), and if the children are bigger, we can improvise with asking some riddles about the veggies
  • Buttoned and unbuttoned leaves
  • Named the leaves color

So,, how do you think?

Busy Book (Quiet book) page by page (1st page)

Last year I made my first busybook for my daughter. She was 1 and a half at that time, and she hasn’t pay any interest in it until recently.. Because the first one was just so so, it really shows that I made it in a hurry, so I decided to make a new one for her. I wanted to make the good one this time, so I copy most of the design from youtube. Thanks for your share hey youtube uploader.. ๐Ÿ™‚

So here, I want to share my everyday progress. The first page that I made has spring theme.

The activities which can be done in here are:

  1. Buttoned and unbuttoned the sakura leaves
  2. Put the butterfly (with velcro in the back) to match with the same color in the rainbow, or they can do mix and match
  3. Name the color of the rainbow
  4. Put the things in the basket on the back of the turtle
  5. Make the small turtle to walk back and forth

So here is my first page of my busy book project, how about yours?

    Maxi Skirt Tutorial

For moslem living in Japan, it is not everyday we can find long skirt that we like, or on our budget. It is better to make one than to go to the mall, because sometimes it can take forever to look for it.

Therefore, I will share a tutorial for easily sew MAXI SKIRT.
    What you need:
    1. Your favorite fabric with 110-116 cm wide, around 1.7-2.1 meters (depends on your height).
    2. Gum tape.

    The steps are:
    1. Fold the fabric in half, and cut two quadrangle depends on your waist to leg length, and add some for waist band and for seam folding.

    2. Sew the edge with lock machine (or zig zag if you dont have one), put the two fabric’s right side together and sew on each side on the wrong side.

    3. Fold the waist and sew, leave a little gap for gum tape. Add gum tape (around 67cm) and sew again.

    Transform T-shirt into Children Pants

I think this is the most mainstream post for almost all of tailor blogger out there: how to make children tights/pants from unused t-shirt. But I want to post it anyway. ๐Ÿ˜€

It is a really easy thing to do.

    1. for the size, take your children pants and fold it in half.
    2. put the pants in each side of the shirt and mark it. Add 0.5-1cm for seam allowance, then cut.
    3. sew each legs part and then sew the two of them together.
    4. its finished!!

    Sewing is FUN

When I was little, my wardrobe was full of mom’s handmade clothes, and most of the time I envied other friends who bought their clothes from the mall. Little didย I know that I was very lucky actually, to have such a wonderful mom!

After being a mom myself, I started to have interest in sewing, and it is addictive. After just finishing a baby clothes, I was craving for mo~re. Well of course the first one was really bad, but like they said ‘no pain no gain’, right?

On our first Eid together as a family, I wanted to make a matching clothes. And how about the result?ย Well, it was not that bad, but then we never wear them again, not even once ๐Ÿ˜ฆ But anyway here it is: our very first matching outfit.

Like they said the first one is always painful, but the next one is better, I promise you! ๐Ÿ˜€
